SAM GARRETT’S NEW ALBUM “FORWARD TO ZION”
London, UK: Beautiful Emergence Records is pleased to announce the release of Sam Garrett’s new album, ‘Forward to Zion’, in conjunction with his live appearance this weekend at the Medicine Festival, one hour outside of London.
The new album is the culmination of Garrett’s journey to explore eastern philosophy, meditation, yoga, and Rastafari wisdom. The album highlights the call for deeper introspection and unity during a time of separation and division.
“In the words of Haile Selassie, "Unity is strength",” said Sam, “and I hope that these songs will inspire hope and give courage to those in need while at the same time bringing joy and a celebration of life.”
Garrett’s connection to Rastafari wisdom and livity grew during the pandemic. While in lockdown, Garrett began to feel a pull towards the teachings and example of Haile Selassie and the spirit of Rastafari, which gave solace and comfort during these difficult times. This inspired him to write songs for the album.
Reflecting upon the writing process, Sam said, “This album is very dear to my heart and feels relevant in these times to bring this message of love and Unity into the world through these songs.”
Garrett was inspired by the album ‘Back to the Roots’ by Hawaiʻi-based artist Paul Izak, which led him to reach out and connect. The two worked together on Izak’s farm in Waimanalo to record most of the tracks for the forthcoming album. Sam’s audiences have eagerly received the love and wisdoms expressed in the songs from the album which have already been released throughout 2023.
Samʻs songs have reached #1 on iTunes charts 64 times in 32 countries, for a total of 1,727 days and counting. The title track reached #1 on the iTunes Reggae charts in Portugal earlier this year, while ‘I & I’ has reached #1 on the iTunes Reggae charts in multiple countries, and ‘When We Get Together’ debuted at #1 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts in Austria.
“‘Forward To Zion’ is a representation of my own inner journey and stepping into my own power and strength with humility and reverence,” said Sam. “Having courage to walk your own path without shame or fear but with clarity and love.”
Garrett has previously released two EPs and two full-length albums, and he has shared the stage with other artists such as Mose, Ajeet, and Nessie Gomes. He is currently on a 29-stop tour across Europe to support the album release.
Garrett’s music has garnered more than 46 million views on his YouTube channel, with over 241,000 subscribers, and more than 450k monthly listeners on Spotify.
